With the US Federal Government shutdown, DC Elopements is preparing to assist engaged couples left in a state of limbo because the DC Marriage Bureau is closed. The DC Superior Court has determined that the DC Marriage Bureau is a non-essential service and all staff have been furloughed until the shutdown is over:
Govt Shutdown Update: DC Courts courtrooms are fully operational, jurors should report and cases may be filed. The Marriage Bureau, Child Care Center, and other support offices, however, will be closed during the shutdown.
